The Bark House Fishery comprises approximately 440 meters (481 yards) of single bank fishing on the River Wye opposite the village of Hoarwithy. The top part of the beat is shallower and fast flowing, the fishery contains one large deep holding pool with a long run of deep, slack water across a gradual bend in the river.

Location
The fishing is located on the left bank of the River Wye opposite the village of Hoarwithy. Hoarwithy is 6 miles from Ross on Wye and 10 miles from Hereford.

Access
The fishery is accessed via Kings Caple through Pennoxstone Court between points X and Y on the enclosed site plan. There is also a small derelict fishing hut at the end of the beat, close to the access. The beat is overgrown with bankside vegetation and willow trees.

Catch Records
The fishery was originally purchased as a private salmon and sea trout fishery. There are no catch records. The Middle Wye is now better known for coarse fishing, particularly barbel, chub and pike.
