The village has a medical centre, a well stocked store, a Church and The Swan Pub. The nearest primary school is found in the neighbouring village of Bawdsey. A signpost in the village indicates that Ramsholt is only about two miles away and The Ramsholt Arms, which overlooks the River Deben, is a popular gastro pub which also attracts the sailing fraternity.
