Developer breathes life back into Brightlingsea Marina
Harbourside at Waterside Marina, Brightlingsea
The Purelake Group, who acquired the part-built development complex and marina on Brightlingsea’s waterfront in 2016 are proudly unveiling details of their new scheme ‘Harbourside’ at Waterside Marina in the ancient maritime town on the 2nd and 3rd June 2018.
The inaugural pre-launch of Phase I of this welcomed rejuvenation project is being held to coincide with the annual Brightlingsea Regatta and Purelake have been announced as title sponsors. The fun family event takes place during the first weekend in June, hosting pursuits throughout the harbour and waterfront venues. The Regatta will mark the first opportunity for prospective buyers to register their interest in the Harbourside properties at the marketing suite, in anticipation of the official launch at the end of July.
The Harbourside scheme comprises a brand new collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments and houses. These will offer some of the best contemporary living in the area, with many properties offering sea views and balconies. Two bedroom apartments within Phase I of the scheme will start from £175,000.
Tracey Wheelan, Sales Director at The Purelake Group said: “We are reinvigorating the Waterside Marina in Brightlingsea with new investment and a brand new development of luxury apartments and houses. Working alongside the Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners, who are doing a fantastic job currently, we are investing in the area to offer new facilities for the public and improving the existing vista of the marina. Our Harbourside development of 53 luxury, one, two and three bedroom apartments and 5 family homes sits in the heart of the marina.
“As owners, Purelake are committed to the long-term development of the marina and are focused on working with the local community in the area.”
The decommissioned development that had been in the hands of receivers since the 2008 recession was thrown a lifeline by the award-winning Bromley based developers. The residents of Brightlingsea and surrounding areas have supported Purelake since taking ownership of the marina, which is managed by Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners.
Purelake inherited the original developer’s proposals and went back to the drawing board by devising and crafting a vastly improved scheme with the full approval of Tendring Council. The new plans include more three bedroom homes and fewer one bedroom dwellings, additional parking spaces, less commercial units, a new public right of way created to join the promenade with the marina and additional landscaping of the courtyard, with new street furniture and tree plantings.
