Mattressman and Barnardos join Poundstretcher
Barnardos and Mattressman have both have taken 10 year leases and expect to begin trading shortly. Poundstretcher was the first store to open at Stanway Retail Park last month when they officially opened their doors on Friday 18th October.
The 35,000 square ft Stanway Retail Park in West Colchester, has been developed by Ardencrest, the East of England Co-Operative Society’s property company. Phase 1 consists of an East of England Co-op food store with fully let offices above. Other major retailers in the vicinity include Hatfields Furnishers, Tool station, Topps Tiles, Halfords, and Paul Simon Home Furnishings.
Rob Windus, Associate Partner at Fenn Wright Commercial, believes the area’s popularity will continue to grow. He said: “Colchester is experiencing a period of significant growth at present and will have 6,000 new homes over the next 10 years. Stanway is a long established shopping destination and new developments such as this one can only add to the attraction of the area as a whole.”
There are two remaining units to be let at the scheme, which offers 390 car parking spaces on site and a petrol station, and lies 2.5 miles from Colchester town centre and 1.5 miles from junction 26 on the A12. The vacant units each offer approximately 7,600 square ft of ground floor retail accommodation, with potential to create mezzanine levels.
