New retail centre for St Elizabeth Hospice
Donations will be accepted at the site from January 20th between 9am-5pm, and parking is available. The Hospice is appealing for around 40 volunteers to help at the centre with customer service, stock, or driving the Hospice’s retail delivery van.
Sue Goodchild, the Hospice’s Head of Retail, said: “St Elizabeth Hospice’s first retail centre provides a great opportunity to generate more income for the Hospice and we hope local people will support it by donating a range of items, coming to buy goods or volunteering to help out.”
Fenn Wright Commercial Surveyor Mark Drummond remarked: “We’re delighted to have completed this let on behalf of a private client, to St Elizabeth Hospice. The charity does a fantastic job and the opening of their new retail centre in Holywells Road will help generate vital income which is required to grow and support local hospice care for local people.
“Looking at the broader commercial property picture, we are seeing encouraging signs that there is an increase in business confidence. More and more businesses are now actively looking for larger or additional commercial premises – a trend which should continue in 2014,” he added.
There is one unit still available at Holywells Retail Centre. “Unit 1b has recently been refurbished and is the last remaining unit at the centre, providing approximately 1,560 sq ft of sales and workshop accommodation,” said Mr Drummond. “The unit represents a good opportunity for a variety of businesses due to the flexible layout of the accommodation and the location close to the town centre, university and waterfront”.
