Fenn Wright completes two lettings to Gail’s Bakery in Essex
We are pleased to confirm the recent lettings of 69 High Street in Brentwood (3,229 sq. ft.) and 84 High Street in Billericay (1,442 sq. ft.) to Gail’s Bakery, acting on behalf of the same confidential investor.
Gail’s opened their first bakery in 2005 in London’s Hamstead Heath High Street and currently operate 79 bakeries, providing handmade bread, pastries and cakes, breakfasts and lunches, alongside their carefully sourced house-blend coffee.
Brett Parker, Property Director at Gails commented “We are pleased GAIL’s Bakery has expanded into Essex on high streets including Brentwood and Billericay. Our property team spent time in both areas to find the right location for our bakery openings. Our team sourced and used sustainable materials for the build of each bakery, which is key part of every bakery opening across the South of England. As a neighbourhood craft bakery, we offer our customers freshly baked food, which is baked on site each day and hand roasted speciality grade coffee”.

John Logan, Associate Partner at Fenn Wright who acted on behalf of the Landlord added “We are delighted that Gail’s have opened at these prominent sites in Brentwood and Billericay. Gail’s are a thriving ambitious business who specialise in traditional artisan baking. After completing the lease on the Brentwood premises at the end of 2021, our client and the tenant quickly established a good relationship, and we were pleased to let 84 High Street in Billericay on behalf of the same landlord, in February 2022”.
Whilst there have been concerns regarding the retail market, the Commercial team at Fenn Wright have been successfully selling and letting retail premises across Essex, and there is still strong demand for sub 3,000 sq. ft. prime and secondary retail pitches. In addition to these two lettings, recently we also acted jointly on the lettings of 67 High Street in Brentwood to Tesco and Units A & B Army and Navy, Chelmsford to Moda Furnishings.
