Fenn Wright cyclists exceed fundraising target for EACH

To celebrate our 250th anniversary, a team of Fenn Wright employees organised a 90-mile cycle challenge in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
On 6th June, 12 brave volunteers, cycled from our most southerly branch in Chelmsford to our brand-new office in Woodbridge, visiting all of our other branches in-between. They were also supported by a number of colleagues who participated in various legs of the journey. With an average speed of 12mph and in a time of just under 7.5 hours, the team crossed the finish line in Woodbridge where they were greeted by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices Fundraising Assistant, Georgia Memory who had keenly tracked their progress via GPS throughout the day.
Commenting, Georgia said: “The team at Fenn Wright worked so hard to achieve this amazing feat and we are really pleased to see the final figure stand at just over £7,000.00. We look forward to this inaugural challenge gaining momentum and becoming a charitable fixture on our fundraising calendar.”
The united efforts of our participating team totalled a journey of over 1,500 miles, equating to a figure of £4.67 being raised for every individual mile cycled and all funds will go towards the 450 families being supported by EACH at any one time.

Alan Williams, Managing Partner of Fenn Wright said: “When the idea for the bike ride was first discussed our target was to raise £2,500.00 for EACH but with the amazing support of clients, professional contacts, friends and family, we have raised well over that figure.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices was a natural choice to receive the donation, given that Fenn Wright has been supporting this immensely important family-centred cause since 1995. Seeing the total climb on our ‘Just Giving’ page gave our cycling team a real boost that spurred them on their way. A big thank you to our riders for their spirit and determination and in particular Nigel Berry, and our very own Team GB Triathlete Donald Barber, who planned the 90-mile route to ensure that the safest and most interesting journey around our office network was experienced by all those taking part.
