Fenn Wright exceed fundraising target for charity

07 Aug 25

Last month, a team of employees from Fenn Wright and mortgage partners, Fitch & Fitch, completed a 25-mile walk through the Suffolk and Essex countryside to raise funds for The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation.

The route started from our Sudbury office and took a team of forty-two along the St Edmund Way, Stour Valley Path and Essex Way, before finishing at our Manningtree branch.  The team set off shortly after 07:45 and completed the walk in 10 hours 23 minutes, with lunch kindly supplied by East of England Co-op.

The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation was named Fenn Wright’s chosen charity of the year in April, and has raised £6,883 to date.  Founded in 2014 in Tom’s memory, the charity supports teenagers and young adults aged 13-24 who are facing cancer.  Run by Richard and Nikki Bowdidge, money raised by the Foundation has so far created eight rooms and age-appropriate spaces and more than £500,000 has gone towards funding a research project looking into targeted treatments for teenage cancers.

James Gunther, Partner, who took part in the walk commented “I am delighted that we were able to exceed the target we set, with the wonderful support of our colleagues, clients, family and friends.  Thank you to everyone who so generously donated and sent messages of encouragement throughout the day.  The Tom Bowdidge Foundation is an incredible charity that we are proud to support, and it was great to see Richard and Nikki as we crossed the finish line.”

Nikki Bowdidge added “We are so proud of everybody that took part.  What a fantastic event for the team at Fenn Wright to have been able to complete together, it was so nice to be able to welcome them back at the end of their challenge.”

Fenn Wright will be holding other fundraising events throughout the year, but in the meantime there is still time to donate via their JustGiving Page – https://www.justgiving.com/page/fenn-wright-tombowdidgefoundation
