New development in picturesque Lavenham

01 Dec 21

Lavenham is well known as one of Suffolk’s most historic and traditional villages and following a poll in 2016, in which every resident had their say, 91% voted in favour of a neighbourhood plan to expand the village with carefully considered development.

As a result, when renowned East Anglian housebuilders, Hartog Hutton, canvassed the village for their views on a proposed new development, they received mainly positive responses and planning permission was subsequently granted.

Set in a fantastic location in the heart of Lavenham, nestled alongside the High Street, The Paddocks is a beautifully designed development of 25 new homes, all with individual layouts and elevations.  The scheme will consist of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, 8 of which will be ‘affordable homes’ for local residents.  The houses will reflect the local style, incorporating traditional materials, and residents will have the use of open spaces and a footpath linking directly to the High Street.

Sam Thornton who is handling the sale of this lovely development is confident that The Paddocks will be of the highest quality with the best located houses built in Lavenham in the 30 years he has worked in the village.

In recent years, Hartog Hutton have breathed new life into the St Leonards Hospital site in the heart of Sudbury, which saw the sympathetic conversion of the Victorian building and its grounds into 12 stylish new homes.  Another recent development is Rising Sun Hill, a collection of 22 homes, overlooking the tranquil village of Rattlesden, where only three properties currently remain available.

The first homes will be due for completion next year, for more information, please contact our team in Sudbury to register your interest on 01787 327000 or email sudbury@fennwright.co.uk
