Proud to support Headway Essex
Headway Essex is a completely independent charity, providing care and support for adults and their families living in Essex with acquired brain injury related conditions. The brain injury may have been caused through accidents, illness, tumours or disease.
All brain injuries are different and people may be affected to a varying degree by any number of problems depending on the severity of their injury and the area of the brain which is affected. The effects can be physical, cognitive, emotional and/or behavioural. They can be short lived, or can last a life time. Lives of those affected, including families and carers, are changed forever, without warning.
Headway Essex supports these people and their families through The Headway Centre in Colchester which focusses on rehabilitation. It offers a range of activities to help people with a brain injury realise their potential in a safe environment with experienced staff and dedicated volunteers.
Their Community Support Services also provide emotional and practical support, crisis support, education and ongoing help with health and social issues to affected individuals and their families and carers, living in the Essex community.
Headway Essex rely on fund-raising to provide these services.
On 10th August, Fenn Wright’s James Hockey will be one of the 24,000 riders taking part in the challenging RideLondon event, a 100 mile London to Surrey route made famous by the London 2012 Olympic Road Race. To support James please make a donation online at the official sponsorship page https://www.justgiving.com/James-Hockey.
