Suffolk Dog Day – A great success!
Members of the Ipswich and Woodbridge branches ran the fun dog scurry at Suffolk Dog Day on Sunday 28th July. The scurry involved over 90 handlers and their dogs competing against the clock to complete a water retrieve at Helmingham Hall lake.
This was the first time Fenn Wright had organised the scurry which proved to be a huge success and great fun for everyone taking part including competitors and spectators, as well as their dogs!
Organised by Suffolk Community Foundation, Suffolk Dog Day has raised in excess of £500,000 for local charities over the nine years it has been running, with this year’s total expected to be over £60,000, a record breaking year for the foundation!
Thanks to all the participants who made the day such a great success and congratulations to our two winners, Mark and his dog Ash, and Laura with River, with fantastic times of 1min 12 for the long retrieve and 41 seconds for the short retrieve respectively.
