Martin started his career as a Rural Chartered Surveyor in mid-Wales and qualified as ARICS in 1985. He subsequently moved to Strutt & Parker in Ipswich in 1986 and was responsible for the management of Helmingham and Orwell Park Estates in Suffolk, becoming an Associate Partner before leaving to set up his own business in 1991. Martin Freeman & Co was merged into Fenn Wright in 1998 when Martin became a Partner and Head of the Rural Division in 1999.
Martin has developed a niche specialising in water and leisure properties over the past 20 years and launched fisheries4sale.com in 2003, the only specialist fishery and water related property website in the country. Martin has visited over 2,000 fisheries and is an expert in all aspects of sales, valuations, professional, planning and expert witness work.
Martin retired from the Partnership in October 2020 to become a Consultant to the Rural Division and continues to grow the water and leisure side of the business.
