Vacancy Details
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Graduate Surveyor to join our valuation team, supporting our Valuation Surveyors across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential assets throughout East Anglia. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience and progress towards professional qualification (e.g. MRICS).
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm and based in Ipswich and Colchester, with travel across East Anglia.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with property inspections and site visits
- Support the preparation of valuation reports in line with RICS Standards
- Collect and analyse market data and comparable evidence
- Undertake research into local property markets and trends
- Assist with financial appraisals and development viability work
- Liaise with clients, lenders, and professional contacts
- Maintain accurate records, databases and files
- Provide day to day support to senior fee earners
- Provide general support to the wider valuation team as required
Exposure to a Wide Variety of Instructions
You will gain experience across a diverse range of valuation work, including:
- Commercial lending and secured finance
- Bridging finance
- Tax valuations (IHT and CGT)
- Pension fund (SIPP) compliance
- Financial reporting and audit valuations
- Expert witness work
- Commercial and residential development valuations
There may also be opportunities to explore related areas such as Landlord and Tenant matters . (Rent Reviews and Lease Renewals) and development viability assessments etc.
About You
- Degree in Real Estate, Property, Surveying or a related discipline
- Intention to work towards RICS APC and MRICS qualification
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Argus desirable
- Some property or valuation experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of the local market beneficial
