The woodland includes a wide variety of deciduous and coniferous trees and it is understood that a Victorian swimming pond is located towards the north western corner of the site and previously served by a natural spring.

Planning

The woodland is subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) (03-00017) dated 9th January 2004 and prior to that a TPO (8/1985) dated 2nd January 1986.

A planning application was previously submitted for the erection of a detached house and garage including associated site works (reference IP/17/01185/FUL) although this was refused, the decision notice being dated 4th July 2018.

The property is freehold, the HMLR title number being SK140170.

The title includes Mitre Way although this road has been adopted by Suffolk County Council and is therefore maintainable at public expense.

The property is listed as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011, the Community Interest Group being While Elm Woodland CIC . The associated 6 month moratorium expires on 7th December 2021.
